Run: I almost didn't run today. I was like... f this cold and frost. But because of this blog thing I ended up motivating myself to go. If I didn't have someone "watching" I never would have gone. mapmyrun.com says I went about 2.2 miles. I admit I stopped to stretch for a minute, but hey, that's not bad for me. I came home and did 8 minute abs/buns. Laugh all you want, I've done 8 minute abs in the past and it works.

Eat: To eat today I had a reasonable piece of lasagna for lunch... I cheated with a little donut thingie in between, and for dinner I had chicken and potato salad (the german kind, not the mayonaise kind). I could do better with that.

Soccer: none today. Maybe that's what I'll do tomorrow, though I have class and I've been having trouble waking up early.

Guitar: I played for about an hour tonight after dinner. It was FUN. I would rather have my electric than this old acoustic, but it's better than nothing. I just fooled around with easy songs that have all chords, but I'd like to learn more riffs.

German: As usual I read some of the newspaper and did more flashcards. I also wrote two e-mails in German that should be corrected by the parties that receive them.

Goals

Looks like Doug hasn't posted anything yet.

So we've officially kicked off "Operation stop this fat business" or whatever you want to call it. I suppose I'll just start with my goals:
  • Get down to 120. It's only 10 pounds, but as I've weighed around 130 FOREVER... it's going to be a challenge. The last time I dropped any siginificant weight was when I was 16 working at Whalom Park. I didn't eat all day, I walked around alot, and I ate Uncle Bens Rice Bowls for dinner. Unfortunatly, I cannot recreate this diet plan, and I'm sure some of it had to do with puberty too, so, yeah. New plan.
  • Be able to run faster, longer, and for more time. This is extremely important to stop sucking at soccer. If I'm always second to the ball, I'm going to keep sucking. Right now I can only do about a mile without stopping. Sad but true.
  • So then, get better at soccer. My shot is lousy, my ball skills are lousy, I'm lousy. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that I stopped playing at 16 and didn't pick it up again until 23. I sort of missed out on the important skill learning years. I need to spend time practicing all that as well.
Completely unrelated goals to exercising, but part of the "Angie you're ridiculously lazy, stop it" plan:
  • Play guitar every day. I've been playing since the 8th grade but I hit a wall and never went furthur than that. I was just uninterested in practicing, but I wanted to get better. These two things do not go together.
  • GERMAN. For christ sakes I moved here to learn the damn language. I've had a spattering of German in my life since the 6th grade... still suck. I recently found a Tandem partner I'm going to meet on Wednesday... hopefully that goes well. Her English is almost perfect though, so I'm sure I'm going to feel this partnership is completely unequal. I'm friends with these Bavarian dudes that are not good at English, and one of them wants to learn but seems to think that one of us needs to know both languages in order to be tandem partners. I think he just doesn't understand the concept. I still think his English is better than my German, but not by too much. I would feel much more comfortable with that partnership. I sent him off a (corrected) message in german trying to talk him into it. We'll see.

So, I lightly started off last week with these things, and need to come up with a more concrete plan. I suppose I'll work that out and put it up here for you fine folks. I think after today I'm going to get more detailed about exactly what it is I'm doing/eating and how it's all going. The point of the blog is not to cheat... or if I do cheat, put it out there for me and everyone else to see.
